During its 50th anniversary year, Dreumex launched the spectacular Formula 1 promotion. Entrants stood a chance of winning one of 100 Kärchers or the fantastic main prize: a Formula 1 tour to Malaysia to the value of € 5,000!

From the many entrants, the notary drew the lucky winner: the Meijer family from Drachtstercompagnie in the Netherlands. As owners of a cattle farm, they use our Special hand cleanser every day, and this time it brought them not only clean hands, but also a lot of happiness!

‘I entered the code on New Year’s Eve of 2009. I thought, it could always happen, you never know!’ says Mrs Meijer. Nearly a year later, they received a phone call from Dreumex with the news that they were the lucky winners of the main prize. ‘I was completely stunned. What fantastic news, so close to Christmas! My husband had no idea, and was happy and surprised when I told him the fantastic news. We eventually decided that my husband will take the trip with a friend who is a huge Formula 1 fan.’ Mr Meijer says, ‘This is a unique opportunity for us. We usually don’t get much further than Belgium!’ (laughs).

Handing over the prize

The official handing over of the prize took place on Wednesday 22 December at Oliehandel Van den Belt in Drachten, where the Meijer family has been a client for a year, and where they buy our Dreumex products. ‘When Mr Meijer phoned me with the happy news, at first I thought he was joking!’ says Kijmpe Tuil, the representative at Van den Belt. ‘But it turned out to be real, and we are extremely happy that our client won this prize’.

We hope the family Meijer have lots of fun at the Malaysian Grand Prix in April 2011!
